Variscite is pleased to inform about the Yocto Pyro v1.0 release for our i.MX6 Modules.
Modules: VAR-SOM-MX6, VAR-SOM-SOLO/DUAL and DART-MX6.
Release: pyro-fsl-4.1.15-mx6-v1.0.
Noteworthy updates:
- IAdd SWupdate double-copy support
- Use tar.gz by default instead of tar.bz2 for rootfs tarballs
- u-boot-fw-utils: Build and install both mmc and nand configs
- Add VAR-SOM-MX6 support for iMX6QP
- Bluetooth: Reworked installation of pulseaudio A2DP modules
- Audio: Run pulseaudio in system mode
- Configure hostapd start-up via /etc/default/hostapd
- U-Boot updates:
- Increase mmc data transaction timeout to 500ms
- Add flexibility to boot/root mmc dev/part selection

Variscite will present a new product lineup built around the Smart Mobility Architecture (SMARC) form factor standard during Embedded World 2026, running March 10-12 in Nuremberg, Germany. The debut will feature the first public reveal of the VAR-SMARC-MX8M-PLUS, running on NXP’s i.MX 8M Plus processor. Visitors can find Variscite at booth 4A-342 in the Exhibition Centre.
