Thursday, 01 Apr 2021

Release date: 04/01/2021

Variscite is pleased to inform about the Yocto Dunfell release v1.3 for its VAR-SOM-MX8M-NANO System on Modules.

Modules: VAR-SOM-MX8M-NANO

Release: dunfell-fslc-5.4-2.1.x-mx8mn-v1.3

Details:

  • Filesystem:
Yocto Dunfell (based on the FSL community BSP).
  • Linux kernel:
Variscite 5.4-2.1.x-imx_var01 branch (based on FSL community branch 5.4-2.1.x-imx, which is based on NXP’s Linux 5.4.24_2.1.0 release and the Linux mainline kernel 5.4.85).
  • U-Boot:
Variscite imx_v2020.04_5.4.24_2.1.0_var02 branch (based on NXP branch imx_v2020.04_5.4.24_2.1.0, which is based on U-Boot v2020.04).

Noteworthy updates since v1.1:

Release 1.3

  • Fixed CAN controller pins: the MCP2518FD driver does not use the TX-INT pin, so removed GPIO1_15 from the CAN controller pins

Release 1.2

  • Added support for VAR-SOM-MX8M-NANO rev. 1.3 with improved performance of the MCP251XFD CAN controller.
Note: older VAR-SOM-MX8M-NANO revisions need DT adjustments for correct CAN operation – See: https://dev.variscite.com/var-som-mx8m-mini/
