Variscite is pleased to inform about the V71 Yocto Krogoth image and BSP release for i.MX6 and i.MX7 Modules.
Modules:
 VAR-SOM-MX6VAR-SOM-SOLO/DUALDART-MX6DART-6ULVAR-SOM-MX7.
Release: Yocto Krogoth – mx6-som-recovery-sd.v71.

Noteworthy updates:

  • U-Boot
    • Fix possible hang when the i2c bus is busy
  • Yocto
    • Add low power sleep support in kernel for low power rev. of VAR-SOM-MX6
    • Update the kernel GPMI-NAND driver
    • Add kernel support for IPV4 masquerading (for WiFi Access Point)
    • Update the kernel touchscreen driver
    • Remove the soft shutdown functionality of the ON/OFF key by default
      to allow it to be used for other things (like wake from suspend)
    • Update BT firmware:
    • Add BT OBEX (Bluetooth File Transfer from command line) support
    • Add Bluez5 A2DP (Bluetooth Audio Streaming) support

new VAR-SMARC-MX8M-PLUS at Embedded World 2026
