Pierluigi Passaro Introduces Variscite’s Sitara AM62Px SoM

Pierluigi Passaro, Variscite’s R&D expert, introduces the VAR-SOM-AM62P SoM – a CRA-ready, cost-optimized module, delivering robust performance for advanced multimedia applications. As a member of Variscite’s VAR-SOM Pin2Pin family, it enables developers to scale performance and features while maintaining the same carrier board design.

Pierluigi Passaro: Here we have the Variscite VAR-SOM-AM62P.

This SoM features an Imagination GPU for graphics acceleration, as well as H.264 and H.265 video encoding. It provides four quad-core Cortex-A53 and real-time support with Cortex M4.

The SoM can drive up to three displays. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth Low Energy and is available with an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

On the software side, this SoM supports Linux, Android, and FreeRTOS.

As part of the VAR-SOM Pin2Pin family, the VAR-SOM-AM62P allows developers to scale performance and features across compatible SoMs.
